Althoug I personally, for instance, have no hesitation in agreeing with its inventor's belief that, when competently used, the Electronic Caduceus I used to own marvellously combines centuries of traditional knowledge about gem-stone therapy and the dynamics of the human aura with a most up-to-date scientific range of electronic aids to positive health and an improved quality of living, and that thanks to this fairly recently invented device, electrical energy can be transformed easily and safely without any great on-going expenditure into a regularly pulsating vibration that actually increases the natural healing potential of quartz and other crystal formations, I also entirely respect the dissenting opinion of those with a different caste of mind.

In my own experience a complete treatment with what is, perhaps, best described as my specially programmed Rainbow Crystal-Wand Resonator and with a single-channel Electronic Caduceus set for 2 minutes in turn at each of the chakra-levels 1- to 7 is a wonderful tonic at any time of the day or night, even if you are not suffering from any particular complaint but simply wish to have more energy and buoyancy in your life generally, and I often found it helpful to have such a switched on Caduceus with me in my car when driving through the night from Exeter to London. The Seven-Channel Electronic Caduceus cannot so easily be make use of when travelling, but it undoubtedly has several quite definite advantages, indeed, I can't think of a single user among my own immediate acquaintances, several of whom are fellow members of the Scientific & Medical Network, who would wish to deny that, although I can easily think of several friends who quite simply prefer never to make any such experiment.

The Buddha used the familiar traditional mudra of a down-stretched right hand to invoke Nature's own witness to the legitimacy of his claim to have found Enlightenment on Earth. As a one time owner both of the first single-channel Electronic Caduceus ever made, and also of one of the very few 7-Channel versions of that particular instrument in existence and, indeed, also as in some sense one of the co-designers of more than one model of that New-Age metaphysical tool, I cannot, in agreement with Solomon, emphasise too much that natural knowledge of this entire field is instinctive, and that those persons healthy enough already to be familiar with what for others remain their profoundly unconscious reptilian depths will usually have no urgent personal need of any such device themselves. They may, on the other hand, still find its creative energies extremely useful in the course of their work to empower others and also in their own wider relationships with the entire surrounding web or invisible force-field of Nature's subtly vibrant PRESENCE.

Lao Tze said: If you have two loaves, sell one and buy a hyacinth, and Prince Charles has commendably endorsed E. F. Schumacher's teaching that small is beautiful. Indeed, if a butterfly fluttering its wings in Brazil can, as reported in Newsweek (21 December 1987), initiate a tornado in Texas, the homoeopathic principle, the smaller the cause, the greater the effect, deserves much more notice than it usually attracts.

The relationship between the observer and the observed, between phenomena and their interpretation, between matters of fact and responsible judgments are subtle and complex. I have considered such problems in greater detail in the final chapter, "The Question of Evidence" of my Voice In The Darkness (1978), but here let it suffice simply to refer the reader to two of the late Professor Gilbert Ryle's relevant articles ("Induction and Hypothesis", Proceedings of the Aristotelian Society, Supplementary Volume XVI, 1937, pp. 36-62, and "Predicting and Inferring" in the Symposium, Observation and Interpretation, London: Butterworth, 1957, pp. 165-70) and to quote one short passage from Professor Michæl Polanyi's well-known Personal Knowledge (1958, pp.9-11):

Creative theorising has always been much more important in science than any sort of accumulation of crude material facts.

It was, in other words, precisely because I realised that the Cosmic Ray Machine Mark-1's design and construction did not permit me any easy application of either Ayurvedic or Tantric principles of personal health and well-being (physical, biological, ecological, emotional, mental, psychic and spiritual) that as a metaphysician fascinated by Dr. Gabriel Cousens' remarks about tachyons and energy vortices in hs Spiritual Nutrition and the Rainbow Diet (Boulder: Cassandra Press, 1986), I immediately requested its inventor in manufacturing for my personal use his first single-channel Electronic Caduceus, to redesign it completely, using different circuits, providing it with improved indicators and much more precise and reliable control functions, and bringing the whole into harmony with the above-mentioned ancient traditions, in which I had then been keenly interested for some very considerable time. The result was, I believe, a very great advance on its predecessor but also, I equally strongly believe, something that still far short of the sort of crystal-power in use in the Great Pyramid of Giza prior to Ninurta's decisive intervention there more than 10,000 years ago...

[Editor's Note: The original typescript of this paper, which is at the time of writing still preserved in the archives of the Neith Network Library at Creativity House, contains several further pages of data and discussion relating to the above mentioned inventions and their possible clinical use, together with a short appendix of cymatics. Although not reproduced here, all of that information can readily be made available to bona fide research-students upon application. There is also an outstandingly excellent collection of natural crystals in Malta's Natural History Museum in Mdina, which deserves to be much more visited and studied than currently appears to be the case.]

The Witch's Brew

BASIC FAT-BURNING SOUP RECIPE AND DIET TO LICK YOU INTO SHAPE

Seven-day plan followed in the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Glasgow by overweight heart patients needing rapidly to reduce their weight before surgery.

REQUIREMENTS: 3 large onions, 1 large green pepper, 1 bunch of celery, ½-head of cabbage, 2 tins of chopped tomatoes, 1 packet of onion-soup mix, 3 vegetable- or chicken-stock cubes.

METHOD: Cut all the vegetables into small pieces. Put into a large saucepan and add all the other ingredients. Just cover with water, season to taste, and simmer until all the vegetables are soft. Liquidise if preferred.

You can eat as much of the soup as you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat the more you will lose. DO NOT eat the soup alone, as this would cause you to suffer malnutrition.

This 7-day eating-plan can be used as you like. If correctly followed, it will clear your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being. This diet is a fast fat-burning diet, and the secret is that you burn more calories than you take in. This diet does not lend itself to the drinking of alcohol at any time, because of the removal of fat build-up in your system. Go off the diet at least 24 hours before any alcohol intake. This diet will effect everyone's system differently. If you feel the need to, eat some bran or fibre, our special complementary recipe may help.

DAY 1: Your first day will consist of all the fruit and soup that you can eat. For drinks have unsweetened tea, black coffee, cranberry juice and water.

DAY 2: Eat all you can of fresh, raw and cooked vegetables. Stay away from peas, dry beans and sweetcorn. At dinner reward yourself with a large baked potato and butter. Eat all the soup you want and a small fruit, e.g., an apple.

DAY 3: Like day 1 & 2 eat as much fruit, fresh vegetables and soup as you want. You cannot have the baked potato though.

DAY 4: Bananas and skimmed milk, eat as many as 8 bananas and as much soup as you want.

DAY 5: Chicken and tomato day - you may have 10 to 20 ounces of chicken and a large tin of tomatoes, or 6 fresh tomatoes. Try to drink at least 6 - 8 glasses of water to wash out the uric acid from your body. Be sure to eat your soup at least once today.

DAY 6: Eat as much chicken and vegetables as you want. You can have 2 or 3 steaks with salad or fresh vegetables, but no baked potato. Be sure to eat your soup at least once today.

DAY 7: Brown rice and fresh vegetables and unsweetened fruit juice. Eat as much as you like. Be sure to eat your soup at least once today.

At the end of the 7th day, if you have not cheated, you will have lost between 10 - 17 pounds. If you have lost more than 17 pounds, stay off the diet for 2 days before resuming from Day 1.

DEFINITE NOT-AT-ALLS: No bread, alcohol or carbonated drinks. Stick with water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, unsweetened fruite juice, and skimmed milk. You may eat grilled or roast chicken (but no skin) instead of beef. If you prefer, you can substitute grilled fish for beef on ONE of the beef days.

ANY PRESCRIBED MEDICATION will not hurt you while you are on this diet. Continue with this plan for as long as you like.

Not all good books are easy to digest!

BRAN-CAKE RECIPE:

This is not part of the diet-plan, but may also help you.

YOU NEED: 1 breakfast cup each of bran, sultanas, skimmed milk, and ½ breakfast cup of brown sugar.

METHOD: Mix all the dry ingredients together, pour the skimmed milk over, and allow to soak for 2 hours.

THEN ADD: 1 breakfast cup of self-raising flour, mix well, put into a greased or lined 1-pint-loaf tin. Cook for 1 - 1½ hours on gas mark-4 (or equivalent) - cover to prevent burning.

According to Saint Thomas Aquinas - not that he was particularly slim! -progress in study is improved not so much by steady application to research, but much more by a temperate abstention from all that distracts from IT.

- Shalom & Welcome! -
