Colin's entry into the Sacred Heart Church, South Street, Exeter, on St. Valentine's morning, Friday, 14 February, 2003, coincided with Monsignor Canon Harry Doyle's concluding benediction at the close of that day's 10am Mass and, unsurprisingly, this excellent parish-priest peacefully and unambiguously denied his parishioner's request briefly to address the assembled congregation.

Shortly afterwards, having entered the nave of that same city's ancient cathedral of Saint Peter, he was warmly welcomed… and the rest, as they say, is history.
