Focussed attention on the immediately urgent needs again and again to be ever more accurately "Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge." (Psalm 19:2)Croeso! Me MALTA'S ANCIENT TEMPLES BENEATH THE CLEAR BLUE SEAOn 24 February 1994 the Sunday Times of Malta published a letter from the well known and highly respected underwater archaeologist, Comm. S. A. Scicluna, which documents his sighting of the remains of a very large Prehistoric 'Temple' at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea about 2.14 nautical miles (3 kilometres) off Malta's north-eastern shore. Although he had earlier mentioned this discovery to Joseph S. Ellul one afternoon in Zurrieq, it was only later that the latter noticed that a post-World-War-II high-altitude aerial photo-map already in his own possession quite clearly indicated the whereabouts of these prediluvial structures. Their marvellous state of preservation results from their having been sheltered from the main onrush of the noachian flood-wave by the notably higher land-mass situated to their west.
Our November 2001 photographs offer a general view of most, but not quite all of the map:
We are greatly indebted to Shaun Arrigo of Planet Sea Productions, who has very kindly supplied us with much of our own current information about Malta's just offshore (see map) under-the-sea prehistoric archaeological sites where, without specific prior official authorization, diving is now strictly forbidden. Image no. 4 referenced above is an aerial photograph of Valetta as it then was. The prediluvial submarine structures are clearly visible also in images nos. 1 - 3. This web-site is one of several dedicated to the Shipwreck of St. Paul, the Apostle of the Nations, the hull of whose ship may in October/November 59 A.D. have providentially been holed during a collision with the stones of the ancient and possibly prediluvian 'Temple' illustrated above, shortly before it foundered and finally broke up in a nearby bay. The inscribed Tal Qadi stone currently on display in the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta is only one of several extant ancient inscriptions around the world that document for us in very considerable detail what life was like in prehistoric times. http://mnajdra.1colony.com 1 2 3 4 5 6 7Much of interest here is not easily, if at all, available elsewhere. "A fetish is a myth posing as an object." WI WU WEI, All Else Is Bondage - Non-Volitional Living (Hong Kong University Press: 2nd edition 1970, reprinted 1982). From the Foreword: "There seems never to have been a time at which sentient beings have not escaped from the dungeon of individuality. In the East liberation was elaborated into a fine art, but it may be doubted whether more people may not have made their escape from solitary confinement outside the organised religions than by means of them... Please be so good as to believe that there is nothing whatever mysterious about this matter. If it were easy, should we not all be Buddhas? No doubt, but the apparent difficulty is due to our conditioning. The apparent mystery, on the other hand, is just obnubilation, an inability to perceive the obvious owing to a conditioned reflex which causes us persistently to look in the wrong direction!" "Only when we have groped our way down the dark corridor and found the light-switch can we look back and see how we should have come." - Frederick E. Crowe, S.J. interpreted within the context of all the other members of this Creativity House Internet family-suite, whose arrangement and structure are also subject to frequent review and modification.
