In the U.K. Part II of the Civil Evidence Act (1968) is opposed to double jeopardy and such other forms of gross multiple abuse as, for instance, inappropriate mentions of or reference to alleged facts relating to a bygone era, spent convictions, for example.
Unlawful access to computerised data, popularly known as "hacking", is not approved in the United Kingdom! Transmitting unwelcome emails can also be unlawful "harassment". Obscene, racist, sexist, grossly offensive and violent usage of the Internet are strictly forbidden. Discrimination on grounds of actual or perceived disability is outlawed. Untrue statements that hold someone up to hatred, ridicule or contempt may, even when not obviously insulting, be found to be illegal. You are not entitled to damage the reputation of any person or company by publishing false statements. Any facts you allege concerning either individuals or organizations must be accurate and verifiable and if you are doing no more than express your or some other person's opinion, the law requires that you do this in such a way that no subject is portrayed in a way that could damage his or her reputation.
Those themselves committing or knowingly and intentionally colluding with, concealing, or otherwise shielding and protecting criminals in any country whose citizens are living under the rule of law are liable to be brought to justice and held to account. Even just the failure to disclose evidence needed to help another to repel false or fraudulent allegations, assertions and accusations made by social malcontents engaged, sometimes apparently permanently, in a campaign of sustained attack on their fellows by denunciation, taunts and threats and other forms of vilification is, manifestly, very much to be deplored. What are we to say when benign facts are interpreted wrongly and inappropriately, even if imaginatively - and sometimes retrospectively - by malign fabrications?
Surely in any open-minded, tolerant and peace-seeking society, such as contemporary Great Britain historically, constitutionally and very largely in fact both is and seeks even more to be, a citizen whose personality, character, temperament, disposition and demeanour have already won general approval on the well established basis of a whole lifetime's typical career of service to the community, as expressed by that person's words, attitudes, motives and beliefs, should never be recklessly accused of wrong-dong, but is fully entitled to rely on the protection of the law and may justifiably expect to receive proper compensation for any damage or inconvenience unlawfully inflicted upon his or her person or property, as well as for any unwarranted and aggressive intrusion into his or her privacy and concomitant erosion of valuable time and energy.
On one of our other pages we have shared a few of our related thoughts about current copyright law here and abroad, especially in relation to the Internet and that in the context of our own fairly long and comprehensive, albeit inevitably inadequate, sincere expression of acknowledgment and thanks to our many, indeed, almost innumerable predecessors and collaborators.
Writing three or four years ago in Accelerated Times 2 (Penzance:Starship GAIA), Medicine Hat made the, to me, entirely valid point that, in all matters of vital moment, it is much more important that we copy right, than it is that we run the risk of betraying the meaning of an author wiser than ourselves by inaccurately paraphrasing that person's published words, simply because, unlike the thoughts they were intended to express, they are "copyright"! Internet communication adds to the complexity of this whole issue, and also makes the attendant questions that much more urgent.
In July 1987 the U.K. COPYRIGHT LICENSING AGENCY issued a useful statement about What it is, what it does, how it works as well as a convenient Pocket Directory of Organisations involved in the administration of Copyright, and earlier, in 1977, the CHILDREN'S LIBERATION FRONT had had this to say in their The Book of the Mother (Shivalila Production: 1977):
Whoever thinks an idea can be copyrighted has already forgotten its source. It is not necessary to obtain permission to quote any material in this book, provided that the four covenants of Shivalila are included directly or in footnote. 1. Ahimsa. Shivalila is an open, nonviolent community. 2. Sattva Ava. People of Shivalila will make no contract in respect to truth without stipulating that truth is relative and that body, mind, and environment are indissoluble. 3. Bhramcari. People of Shivalila do not own anything on any plane. 4. Tantra. A person of Shivalila will have sensual/sexual relations with another only after that person has manifested some identification with nature and babies.
Sadly, however, misunderstandings continue to arise and peope do grumble, gossip and quarrel. Like Joseph S. Ellul, our webmaster takes Jesus's parable of The Good Samaritan very much to heart. He is neither a police-man nor a lawyer and does not aspire to emulate "the equalizer". Thank you for your recent letter. You greatly honour me by writing as you do and I am always happy if in any way I can be of service. Our Mother Mary and our Father I+N Heaven undoubtedly enjoy a clear understanding of this gigantic Cross+Word we call 'the 'world', the 'cosmos' or 'God's creation', but Thomas Aquinas hit the nail on the head when he pointed out that the number of fools is beyond all reckoning.
Even if you aren't on the Internet yourself and even if you don't own a computer or even know how to use one or even, perhaps, how to type, if you venture courageously and humbly into any Internet Café or Public Library that has Internet facilities, that is the easiest and quickest way of hearing, viewing, reading and generally exploring all my personal answers to all your very clearly and honestly expressed assortment of puzzles, problems and even mysteries.

Although your letter focussed on a few quite specific questions that someone else is keen to find the answers to, since you also mentioned one or two very important things about yourself and your present situation, and noticing "puzzled" and "intuition" in sentences where such words can suggest deep waters underneath - still to be puzzzled about an individual you have known for about forty years or more is no small thing and since, in your field of work, intuition at its best seldom provides the key to more than 99% of what's on your plate, you may have a real problem. In any case, what some call "intuition" or "synchronicity" is often, I suspect, better described as behind-the-scenes help from friendly Angels, Saints and such like Higher Beings. As regards specifics -
Your inquirer is quite mistaken in thinking that the authors of the book quoted "failed to explain" the meaning of:
Why? Because (1) "Everyone" already knows!
(2) The authors quoted are more interested in a different similarly structured puzzle that has 8 instead of 5 letters each way; (3) They don't want to steal away the fun of crossword-puzzle and secret-code play from those who are not yet "everyone".
In any event, what IT truly means is: The hairs of your head are all numbered. God is Number and Measure & Weight. "'eppur si muove…"
