PRAYER Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now Your Spirit over the earth. Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of all nations, that they may be preserved from degeneration, disasters and war. May the Lady of all Nations, who once was Mary, be our Advocate. Amen.
Bishop Josef Marianus Punt's statement of 31 May 2002
In Amsterdam on 2 April 1951 The Lady of All Nations said: "The world is not saved by force, the world will be saved by the Spirit... See that my prayer is made known throughout the world, among all the Nations. They all have a right to it. I assure you that the world will change." On 4 April 1954 she said: "Say my prayer, then, nations, that the Holy Spirit will really and truly come."
Then on 31 May 1955 the Lady of All Nations said: "Make sure that every year the nations will be assembled around this throne, before this picture. This is the great favour that Mary, Miriam or The Lady of All Nations is allowed to bestow on the world". Later in that same message she goes on to say: "In her name ask the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, who will come now more fully than ever."
The Message of The Lady of All Nations
On 25 March 1945, the feast of the Annunciation, Mary appeared to a simple woman, Ida Peerdeman, who lived with her sisters in Amsterdam. This was the first of a series of about 60 apparitions which took place between 1945 and 1959 and have become known as 'the Messages of the Lady of all Nations'.
In the beginning little was understood of the many images and messages that were given. It was only in the course of time that their meaning became clear and what the Lady had said was fulfilled: "Time will prove Me right."
THE MESSAGES FROM 1945 TILL 1950
In the first series of 25 apparitions the Lady shows in many images and messages a Church and world in distress, torn apart by strife, discord and war. But also prophecies are given of a new era in which the Spirit will come over the earth. A few fragments are given here, as rendered by the seeress:
"I see the Vatican and the entire Catholic Church around it. Then I see a black dove flying above our Church. The Lady points at the dove, saying: 'That is the old spirit, which must go.' Suddenly I see the black dove changing into a white one. The Lady says: 'This is a new white Dove; it sends out its rays in all directions, for the world is tottering...a few more years and it would perish. Yet He is coming; He will put the world in order, but...they must listen.'
We continue until we come in front of a large cross. 'Take it up', the Lady says, 'He has gone before you.' I refuse and feel as though the people of the whole world did likewise and turned their backs upon the Cross.
Now I see the Lady in front of me with the Rosary and She says: 'Keep on praying, all of you.' She points to the cross and says: 'The whole world will have to go back to it, great and humble, poor and rich, but it will be difficult.'
Now I see the globe before me and placing Her foot on it the Lady says: 'I place My foot on the world. I shall help them and lead them to the proper goal, but they must listen...' "(7-10-45)
She warns mankind of a great struggle that will engulf Church and world:
"Righteousness will be the point at issue. Within a very short time tremendous things are going to happen. They will be preceded by chaos, disorder, doubt and despair. Above St. Peter's heavy clouds will hang, which will only be dispersed with much strife and difficulty. All Christians must unite. This will only be effected with great pain and misery. Unite, all of you, for the struggle begins. The gates are opening. The Eastern peoples are holding their hands before their faces in Jerusalem. They will weep and wail with great anguish over their city."
I see written: 'Righteousness, Love and Justice'. The Lady says: "As long as these words have not found full acceptance in men's minds and hearts, there will be no peace in sight." (28-3-48)
I see the Lady and She says: "Disasters will overtake the world, from North to South, from South to West and from West to East." Now I see a round dome. It seems to be situated in Jerusalem and I hear: "In and around Jerusalem heavy battles will be waged."
Then the Lady says: "The world is, as it were, going to be torn in two. Great misery and distress are imminent."
A pain now develops in my hand and I see America and Europe lying side by side. After this I see written: 'Economic warfare, boycottings, currency crises, catastrophes'.
Suddenly a big pointer appears and I hear the words: "The sun-dial has been turned." (26-12-47)
Then suddenly I see the Balkans. There is a war; they are fighting again. The Lady says: "Child, there will be a fierce struggle. We have not seen the end of this struggle yet. Economic disasters will come." (1-10-49)
Now I see England lying before me. The Lady places Her foot on England and, moving Her finger to and fro in warning, She says: "Why so slow to change? Can you not turn to what is normal?" Then She places a very big crown on England, saying: "This also will be tampered with." (15-8-50)
THE TITLE, THE PRAYER AND THE IMAGE OF THE LADY OF ALL NATIONS.
After the proclamation of the dogma of Mary's Assumption into Heaven in 1950, Mary appears standing on the globe as 'the Lady the Mother of all Nations, who once was Mary'. The Lady gives the following explanation of this title:
"At His departure, in one act the Lord Jesus Christ gave Miriam or Mary to the nations, gave Her as 'the Lady of all Nations'. For He spoke the words 'Woman, behold Your son; son, behold your Mother'. One act, and by this, Miriam or Mary received this new title." (5-10-52)
On 11 February 1951 the Lady gives a prayer. Among other things She says about this prayer:
"This prayer has been given for the redemption of the world. This prayer has been given for the conversion of the world. Say it in whatever task you are engaged. This prayer should be spread in the churches and by modern means of communication. The people of the present world will learn to invoke the Lady of all Nations, who once was Mary, as their Advocate, so that the world may be delivered from degeneration, disasters and war." (31-12-51)
"You, nations of this era, do realize that you are under the protection of the Lady of all Nations; call upon Her as the Advocate; ask Her to stave off all disasters; ask Her to banish degeneration from this world. Degeneration breeds disaster. Degeneration generates war. You should ask by means of My prayer to avert it from this world; you do not know what great value and power this prayer has with God. He will grant the requests of His Mother, when She wants to be your Advocate. Well then, nations, put your trust in your Mother, who has never yet forsaken Her children." (31-5-SS)
The Lady drew special attention to the way She appeared and requested that a picture should be made of it:
"I am the Lady who stands in front of the cross. My head, hands and feet are like those of a human being - mark well: like those of the Son of Man; the body, however, is as of the Spirit, because the Son came through the will of the Father. But now the Spirit will come over the world and for this reason I want people to pray for His coming. I am standing on the globe because this message concerns the whole world." (4-3-51)
Now I see in the palm of each hand what looks like the scar of a wound, emitting three rays which shine on the sheep. The Lady smiles and says: "These are three rays, the rays of Grace, Redemption and Peace. Through the grace of My Lord and Master, and out of love for mankind, the Father sent His only Son as Redeemer in the world. Together They now want to send The Holy, the True Spirit, who alone can be Peace. Hence: Grace, Redemption and Peace." (31-5-51)
The Lady wishes to initiate a worldwide movement to propagate the prayer and picture:
"Have this image of Me painted and, together with it, spread the prayer I have taught you. For in this era I want to be the Lady of all Nations and therefore I desire that this prayer-picture be translated into all the principal languages and recited every day." (4-3-51)
"Just as the snowflakes whirl all over the world and fall down on the ground in a thick layer, so the prayer-picture will spread over the world and find its way into the hearts of all nations. Just as the snow soaks into the earth, so the fruit, the Spirit, will enter into the hearts of all men who will say this prayer every day. For they ask that the Holy Spirit may come over the world. And now I speak to those who wish to see a miracle: Go and start with great zeal and enthusiasm this work of redemption and peace, and you will see the miracle. This is My message for today, because time presses. A great movement must be set on foot for the Son and the Cross and for the Advocate and Bringer of tranquillity and peace: the Lady of all Nations." ( 1-4-51 )
THE DOGMA OF COREDEMPTRIX, MEDIATRIX AND ADVOCATE
This will be the last and most important Marian dogma, for which the Prayer and the Picture form the preparation. The Lady gives many explanations of this dogma. She says among other things:
"The Lord and Master chose a woman, called 'Miriarri or 'Mary', from among all the peoples.
According to the will of the Father She would bring the Son of Man into the world, together with His Church and the Cross. The Lady was the Handmaid of the Lord. She brought forth the Son of Man according to the will of the Father and was thus necessarily united with the Church and the Cross. This woman stands in front of you at present as the Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate." ( 17-2-52)
"The Father sent the Lord Jesus Christ as 'the Redeemer of all Nations'. The Lord Jesus Christ was this from the beginning. He became this in the Sacrifiice and in His going to the Father Miriam or Mary became the Handmaid of the Lord, chosen by the Father and the Holy Spirit. From the beginning She was, in virtue of this selection, the Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate of all nations. Only at the departure of the God-Man, Lord Jesus Christ, She became the Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate." (5-10-52)
"Listen well! From the outset the Handmaid of the Lord was chosen to be Coredemptrix. Tell your theologians that they can find it all in the books. Because Mary is Coredemptrix, She is also Mediatrix, She is also Advocate; not only because She is the Mother of the Lord Jesus Christ, but - and mark this well - because She is the Immaculate Conception. Theologians, I ask you, do you still have objections to this dogma? You will be able to find these words and ideas. I ask you to work for this dogma. No, fear nothing! A struggle will ensue. The others indeed will attack you; but the simplicity of this dogma lies in these last thoughts which Mary, the Lady of all Nations, puts before you today. Strive and ask for this dogma: it is the crowning glory of your Lady." (4-4-54)
She predicts much controversy and discord regarding the new dogma but the outcome is already assured and its proclamation was shown to the seeress in a vision. When this dogma has been proclaimed, it will be the beginning of a new era for mankind:
"My prophesy 'From henceforth all generations shall call Me blessed' will be fulfilled more than ever before, once the dogma has been proclaimed. When the dogma, the last dogma in Marian history, has been proclaimed, the Lady of all Nations will give peace, true peace to the world. But the nations must say My prayer in union with the Church. They must know that the Lady has come as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate. So be it." (31-5-54)
The Lady gives a special message for the Pope:
"I have come today to give you a special message: Ask the Holy Father if he would say, and lead the nations in saying, the prayer which Mary, as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate, under the title of 'the Lady of all Nations', has given to the world. Say to him: Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, teach your peoples this simple, but profound prayer. It is Mary, the Lady of all Nations, who is asking this of you. You are the shepherd of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Tend your sheep. Know well that great and threatening dangers are hanging over the Church; over the world. Now the moment has come for you to speak of Mary as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate, under the title of 'the Lady of all Nations'. Why is Mary asking this of you? It is because She is sent by Her Lord and Creator, so that, under this title and by means of this prayer, She may save the world from a universal calamity. You know that Mary wants to come as 'the Lady of all Nations'. Now She is asking you that the people might hear this title from you, the Holy Father." (10-5-53)
THE FIRST AND PRINCIPAL COMMANDMENT
Again and again the Lady emphasizes the importance of Love. While She points to the globe She says:
"I will let you see what is going to happen. It is through terrible strife and calamity that the world, those who have turned away from the Trinity, will come back to the Church. Therefore I repeat: Rome, seize your opportunity. Be big-hearted and let only Love rule your actions. Love can save this chaotic world. Bring all nations back to their Creator. Teach them how simple it is to see the Creator. Men shall treat their neighbours as themselves. A simpler doctrine does not exist. Let each one hold on to these two things and you have the Church of Rome in your hands. Simple faith is what can save mankind." (31-12-51)
To the priests and religious She says:
"The Lady is not going to blame you now. She knows She is dealing with human beings. Life is hard on you these days; but still I exhort you to act in the Spirit of your Lord and Master Jesus Christ. He has gone before you as God, as Man.
Be apostles among yourselves. Are you not all one? Each one must be an apostle on his own account. Be of one mind among yourselves. How can the Community, the Church, be great and one if you are divided among yourselves? Heed My warning and try to be honest and good to one another. No, the Lady does not reproach you but, like a good Mother, comes to warn the apostles of the Church against false prophets, against the wrong spirit.
You must all say the prayer I have given you. The Lady of all Nations has been sent especially at the present time in order to defeat the spiritual decline and degeneration. All of you who are in spiritual need, have recourse to the Lady of all Nations, and She will help you.
Next I say to the apostles of this time: Be broad-minded, be kind. Be good to the people. Evaluate and judge in the same way as the Lord Jesus Christ did. Try to understand the times in which you live and what the struggle is about. Realize that it is a spiritual battle. This is the time of the spirit. The fight is violent and difficult, but the True Spirit will triumph, provided that all of you co-operate. Church of Rome, seize your opportunity.
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit now wants to make His Church great. Make sure you understand your doctrine. It was necessary for the Lady to come and say all this. Remember the first and principal commandment: Love. That embraces everything." (5-10-52)
With great urgency She asks mankind to listen to Her messages for:
"The Kingdom of God is nearer than ever". (31-5-55)
She calls upon all Christians to unite and to encounter the world again with the cross in the hand.
AMSTERDAM AND THE CHURCH OF THE LADY OF ALL NATIONS
The Lady often calls the Church 'the Community'. Amsterdam, the place of the Sacrament, will be the focus of a worldwide movement to gather all nations into one community. Here also the Church of the Lady of all Nations must be built. The Lady says:
"Let the church of the Lady of all Nations be built in Amsterdam, on the site I have pointed out. Marian thought must become more pronounced in these times. Amsterdam will become the focus for the Lady of all Nations. There the peoples will get to know the Lady of all Nations through this image and pray to Her under this title, to obtain unity for themselves and unity among the nations." (10-5-53)
The Lady gives a very detailed description of the new church. It will be a majestic church, built in large blocks of yellow creamlike stone, contrasting wonderfully with the three light green domes: one big dome and, on either side of it, a smaller one. All the windows will have stained glass with deep and warm colours. A striking feature are its round forms with three curved altars coalescing into one. It will have its own distinct character with a fusion of eastern and western styles.
THE EUCHARIST
In the last messages the Lady emphasizes more and more tlie importance of the Eucharist,
"the great Mystery, the great Miracle of every day, every hour, every minute. He gave you Himself. No, nations", She shook Her head vehemently as She said this - "not merely a remembrance; no, nations, listen to what He said, not just an idea, but Himself, under the appearance of a piece of bread, under the appearance of wine. This is how the Lord wants to come among you, day after day. Accept it. Act on it. He gives you the foretaste, the foretaste of eternal life."(31-5-57)
The series of apparitions ends on 31 May 1959 with a great vision, in which the Lady appears in Her heavenly glory and, out of a Host of white fire the Lord Himself appears in all His majesty:
Then I suddenly saw, in all Her glory, the Lady. I cannot possibly describe this splendid, heavenly, glorious sight. Never before had I seen Her like that. Then, suddenly, I had to look at Her head and I saw that She wore a crown. It sparkled with light all around, more brilliantly than the rarest diamonds. Then below this splendid view, I saw a piece of ethereal, blue sky and underneath, the upper side of the globe. This was completely black. I heard: "Do penance."
Suddenly the Lady had gone. In Her stead I saw a big Host. Then in front of the Host there appeared a chalice. Then I saw flowing from this chalice thick streams of blood. All this blood poured upon the globe and spilled over the earth.
Then the scene suddenly changed and all of it became a brilliant; dazzling Sacred Host; it looked like white fire. Then all of a sudden, the Host seemed to burst open, and exposed to my view was a Figure, soaring in mid-air, a Person, exceedingly mighty and majestic. I saw one Person, but the thought kept recurring in my mind: And yet there are two; but when I looked, I saw only one. Still my mind kept repeating: And yet They are two.
All at once there came from Their midst an indescribable light and in it I saw, breaking out from the centre, I cannot express it otherwise, a Dove. It shot like an arrow down to earth, unspeakably bright. What glory, what power shone forth from this, that soaring Figure, majestic, powerful, grand; and the world now all bathed in light from the radiant Dove. And a voice rang out:
"He who eats and drinks Me, receives life eternal and the True Spirit."
Then the Lady came back, arrayed in all Her glory. Now She looked happy and I heard Her say very softly in the distance:
"Farewell. See you in Heaven."
This made me very sad. I began to weep, for I saw everything slowly fading from my sight. (31-5-59)
The apparitions were followed by a series of experiences and visions the seeress had during the Eucharist and are therefore called the 'Eucharistic Experiences'. They lasted until the nineties.
THE REACTION AND OPINION OF THE CHURCH
Initially there was much resistance to the apparirions of the Lady and Her messages. In the divided church of the Netherlands they were considered as not opportune - also in view of the ecumenical movement. Yet, almost unnoticed and often inn a miraculous way, the prayer, the picture and the messages have found their way to the furthest corners of the world. The prayer has been translated into more than 50 languages and tens of millions of prayer- pictures have been distributed all over the world.
On 31 May 1996 the officlal ecclesiasrical approval with regard to the public devotion has been given. On this date, the bishop and auxiliary bishop of Haarlem, Mgr Bomers and Mgr Punt, issued a staternent m which they declare that they have no objectlon to public devotion under the title of 'the Lady of all Nations'. As for the contents of the rnessages, they state that everybody is free to form his own opinion.
Shortly afterwards, on l7 June 1996, the seeress passed away at the age of ninety. Her task had been completed after a life that had not been easy and had been marked by many physical and spiritual sufferings, as foretold by the Lady.
Excerpt from a letter, that Alphonsus Mary Cardinal Stickler wrote as a greeting to the pilgrims in Amsterdam. He himself sent the letter also to the congress of `Vox Populi - Mariae Mediatrici' for 50 bishops, for theologians and for faithful from all over the world, and thereby built a bridge from Rome to Amsterdam.

Anniversary of the first apparition in Fatima
Dear Faithful,
I am very pleased to hear that the First International Day of Prayer in honour of the "Lady of All Nations" will be held in Amsterdam this May 31st. The Most Reverend Henrik Bomers, Bishop of Haarlem-Amsterdam, and Auxiliary Bishop Josef Punt officially approved the title "Lady of All Nations," in order to encourage and to spread devotion to Our Lady within their diocese, which includes the city of Amsterdam. Devotion to the Lady of All Nations should contribute to the realization of the great prophecy which Our Lady announced about herself in the Magnificat, as St. Luke writes: "From this day all nations [ages] shall call me blessed."
For the occasion of this time of grace, I would like to express my personal conviction concerning the messages which began in Amsterdam in 1945. I see them as a valuable gift.
While reading the messages of Amsterdam, which were entrusted to a woman without any theological education, I was impressed from the very beginning by their simplicity and profundity.
Thus, in addition to the truths of faith already proclaimed as dogma, concerning Mary's personal life, there are other titles for her, those describing the task which G-d assigned to the Immaculate Mother of the Son and the Bride of the Holy Spirit through the fulfillment of the entire salvation plan: Mary is Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate. When this title is proclaimed by the Holy Father as a truth of faith, then it will be valid as revealed by G-d.
I believe that this title contains the central statement of the messages of Amsterdam. The Church should undergo a serious scrutiny in light of the events which have taken place in the Church and the world in the last fifty years: an unimaginable crisis of faith, morality, politics, and economics. When the "Lady of All Nations" came to Amsterdam in 1945, no one could have imagined the degree to which her predictions would be fulfilled.
Let us pray for Bishop Bomers and for Auxiliary Bishop Punt, that the Holy Spirit may enlighten them and show them how they can make known to the Church these messages of the "Lady of All Nations," who once was known merely as the Virgin Mary of Nazareth. We hope that Mary will soon be recognized by all Christians as the "Coredemptrix, Mediatrix of All Graces, and Advocate."
A great international movement has now arisen in the Church, asking the Holy Father for the proclamation of a last Marian dogma that defines Mary's role as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate. Already more than forty cardmals and hundreds of bishops, have expressed their support for this initiative and more than four million signatures have been collected and presented to the Holy Father.
In a time in which a secularized Europe seems to have lost its contact with Heaven, these messages form a particular invitation to listen to what the Mother of the Lord wants to tell us. May She be our Advocate.
