(0) The Perfect Mirror is invisible.
(1) The Beginning and End of Christian Faith, Hope and Love IS the One
and only G-d - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(2) Only G-d IS Actually Infinite.
(3) Creation is the potentially infinite Mystery of our Free and
incessantly Growing Individual and Community Participation I+N the
Love-Life of the Most Holy Trinity.
(4) G-d IS Love. The Father IS Vocation I+N Love; the Son IS the Word
I+N Love; the Holy Spirit IS Content I+N Love. Mary is the Perfect
Reflection I+N Love.
(5) G-d Knows and Calls by her or his uniquely Individual Name each
finite Person, Inviting each to Participate as Perfectly as is possible in
the Community Life of G-d's Family in the Kingdom of Heaven.
(6) Our Eternally Living Brother and Friend, the Individual Man
Jesus of Nazareth, Now Risen I+N Glory from the Dead IS the One and Only
Divine Son of our Eternal Father in Heaven, as whose Daughters and Sons we
are each of us Invited to Grow in maturity as Persons in order to Serve
our Sisters and Brothers I+N the Way of Perfect Freedom.
(7) Jesus's Human Death on Calvary released into the whole of
Creation the Divine Gift of the Holy Spirit of G-d's Love, and this Gift
was Confirmed fifty days later by the Visible Descent of the same Eternal
Spirit of G-d in the form of Individual Tongues of Fire onto the heads of
Jesus of Nazareth's Chosen Apostles and Disciples.
(8) Jesus of Nazareth has no human father; He IS the Natural Son of
Mary of Nazareth, the Mirror of Justice, whom He Naturally Loves with All
the Infinite Love of the Holy Spirit Eternally Living I+N his Divine
Consciousness.
(9) As the only Perfect Mirror of the Divine Perfections, Mary
Most Holy is in her own Individual Human Personhood, and as her very Name
(Maya-Maria) Announces, both less than No-Thing, and a Boundless Ocean of
Created and All-Creating Love.
(10) During her Life on Earth Mary Freely, Clearly and Publicly
Announced her Perfect Acceptance of this Divine Vocation, and of her
Unique Role as Humble Servant and Sovereign Queen of all Creation, by
agreeing, without any deviation from her Freely Chosen Way of Perfect
Chastity and Life-long Virginity, to become I+N her historical Life on
Earth Who she always was I+N Spirit - the Human Mother of the Eternal Son
of G-d, and the Wife of Jesus's human father-in-law, the Just Man, St.
Joseph the Teknon.
(11) Mary's quasi-eternal Empowerment to agree I+N this Way to accept
her unique Mission IN Life has its Origin and Source I+N her Divine Son's
Human Death on Calvary, and she is the Tree of Life through whom all Grace
flows.
(12) Similarly, each Individual Human Person in her or his more
or less Freely chosen Way - depending on her or his particular level of
spiritual maturity at the moment of Incarnation - has a special part to
Play in the Development here and now on Earth of this Mystery, which Jesus
Called the Kingdom of Heaven.
(13) In G-d's House there are many Mansions, and we have here no
lasting City save New Jerusalem.
(14) Throughout the entire course of Creation's ever-evolving History
finite Persons are essentially Free to Live as they choose. At no stage is
any Person compelled to say "Yes" in response to the Ever-Present Call of
G-d's Indwelling Love.
(15) Experience suggests and Tradition teaches that many Angels
and most Human Individuals in differing degrees and in a variety of ways
either refuse or hesitate Freely to walk along their Unique Way of Service
I+N the Kingdom of Heaven.
(16) In proportion as we refuse - Individually and as communities
in history - Freely to Live Holistically I+N the Kingdom of Heaven, we
seem to abuse the irrevocable Gift of Freedom; we freely create
personalities and social structures expressive of these temporary yet
potentially never-ending states of alienation from G-d; we divert our
Vital Energies from their Natural Orientation towards an Ever-Growing
Manifestation of G-d's Glory; what we experience and call reality no
longer perfectly mirrors the Eternal Truth of G-d's Actual Presence.
(17) In proportion as we hesitate, freely or otherwise, either
effectively to agree or effectively to refuse - either individually or
collectively - to Live Holistically in the Kingdom of Heaven or,
alternatively, to live personally and socially responsible lives as
members of this or that particular community, we may be said to be no
longer Alive (or even alive) but, if not yet entirely Dead, at least
somewhat Asleep.
(18) Whatever be the Age of the Human Family to which we, each of us,
belong, no Human Child has ever been born without having her or his own
Individual Human Mother and, with the sole exception of Jesus of Nazareth,
no Human Child has ever been born without having her or his Individual
Human Father, whose Personal Identity is Known to Jesus-I+N-Mary as
Joint-Head of our Human Family.
(19) The Tradition which Jews, Christians and Moslems share teaches
that G-d Created out of the Dust of the Earth One Individual Male Adult
Named the Adam, and that from Adam's side G-d subsequently Created One
Individual Female Adult Named Eve, who Lived together for some time IN
Perfect Freedom IN the Presence of G-d, but who subsequently freely chose
to live together outside Paradise in a way that, at least to a
considerable extent, appeared to separate them from their Heavenly Father,
thereby leaving them more free to commit themselves to their individual
and joint projects, which are said to have included a developing
friendship with the Devil, as well as various sorts of bizarre and
sometimes painful episodes.
(20) Jesus's and Mary's historically much later, but to G-d
Eternally Present, Perfectly Free and Humbly Human Unrestricted
Self-Involving Shared Commitment to the Service of the Kingdom of Heaven
Justified the Holy Trinity's Initial Creation of Adam and Eve, and our
First Parents' real fall from Grace, and although this latter set in
motion a still continuing train of events that has immensely complicated
the entire ensuing course of human history to date, it in no way
occasioned any change in G-d's Plan for the Human Family - prodigal
daughters and sons we may see ourselves to be, but I+N our Father's sight
and I+N the Moment of Final Judgment we are, as G-d's Spirit Empowers us
both to Hope and Pray, always Perfect Children of the Light, fully
entitled to live in Shadow and Darkness (not darkness), which, indeed, is
sometimes the Better Part.
(21) Catholic Truth is - notwithstanding the distortions of
catholic truth - Known Always and Everywhere by Everyone. At no time in
the History of Creation has Knowledge of this Truth been Lost - but very
often, and in varying degrees, it has been and remains forgotten. This
forgetting and the ensuing temporary weakening of our endeavours to
remember is an intrinsic part of the Mystery.
(22) Divine Reminders and Revelations of G-d's Catholic Truth
were Granted to our First Parents, have been a recurrent feature I+N the
course of our subsequent History, both as Individuals and as members of a
Community, and no Individual is every entirely deprived of Actual Access
to the Treasury of Revealed Truth, or left without the Vitalizing Help of
Jesus-&-Mary's all-enduring, All-Sustaining Divinely Human Love.
(23) Human Language is One, but because it is very frequently
transmitted in human languages which differ very considerably, human
communications are nearly always fraught with difficulties, yet nothing
ever entirely hinders the Sovereign Action of G-d's Self-Communicating
Love - our Principal and Only True Intimate Teacher I+N Truth.
(24) Even the Devil cannot deny that G-d never refuses His Gift
of Peace. We are, of course, until and unless we have been Confirmed in
Grace, always effectively free to refuse that Gift but, in proportion as
we mature I+N Effective Freedom by our Response to G-d's Individual Call,
the Integrity of our Pristine Personhood is increasingly Empowered and
Nurtured - to the ever Greater Glory of G-d.
(25) Duns Scotus (c. 1300) was an Instrument G-d used to help the
People of G-d to grow in their conscious acknowledgment of Mary's unique
position I+N the Plan of Creation, but the Church's Reception of the
Doctrine of Mary's Immaculate Conception together with the Dogmatic
Definitions both of this Article of Faith and of the Virgin Mary's
Glorious Assumption into Heaven are Known to be a valid expression of the
One Truth that has always been, at least implicitly, Revealed I+N Essence
to All.
(26) Catholic theologians have hitherto regarded Mary as an exception,
but the Truth I+N Theology IS that, I+N Virtue of her Sovereign
Prerogative as Mother of G-d, Mary is the Only Rule of Life!
(27) Gautama Buddha's Mission was to help us learn that there IS
no other Law save this: Personal Freedom IS the only Absolute Value.
Abstract laws are not Laws - models, maps, constructs are not the
territory.
(28) Hence, every Individual is a unique and special case. Chaos
- and this is becoming more abundantly clear than ever - easily disposes
of all human proposals, and all human law-making or law-breaking is seen
to be marginal to the Achievement of G-d's Purpose. Many mistake Chaos for
disorder, but Wisdom Sees otherwise!
(28a) For example, Joan D'Arcy Cooper (1927-1982) and the anonymous
author of the posthumously published Meditations on the Tarot - A Journey
Into Christian Hermeticism have nurtured and nourished Colin James Hamer's
growing Love for all Life I+N Nature; the boy-Saint Dominic Savio, his
spiritual director St. John Bosco and their patron and teacher St. Francis
of Sales have also helped Colin to understand that Mary Help of Christians
is the principal human inspiration of all Sacred Writers.
(29) Recitation of the Rosary Prayer and the daily reading of The
Divine Office wonderfully enrich devout Catholics' growing Participation
I+N the Sacred Liturgy of Holy Mass.
(30) Sacramental Confession I+N Praise and Thanksgiving for the
Gift of G-d's Mercy IS Good for the Soul.
(31) Individuals whose Way has linked their Life more closely
with the Presence of G-d IN what appears to be another and differing
tradition-within-Tradition will, sometimes quite Naturally, sometimes
confusingly or naughtily, prefer to reject a Good Deal which committed
Christians accept. I+N G-d's Plan, that is never entirely a bad thing.
(32) We all have much to learn from each other but, since we are
essentially Individuals, the only Community Life that can be Perfectly
Reconciled with G-d's Divine Gift of potentially Infinite Freedom to each
One among us is that which, without diminishing our Personhood,
progressively Incorporates us all I+N a quasi-Hypostatic Union, together
with our Mother Mary, I+N the Risen Life of Jesus as Man.
(33) As Pierre Teilhard de Chardin grew to Know, each Individual
is a member of the Human Family in virtue of her or his participation in
One Dyad; each Dyad has a Family History that goes back a long, long Way -
indeed, its Origin IS before the Dawn of Time.
(34) The Immediate and Universal Causality of G-d need not and, since
Jesus has chosen to entrust Universal Sovereignty to Mary, in practice
never does exclude the Operation of Secondary Causes of various kinds.
(35) The Traditional Teaching regarding the Immediate Creation of the
Adam and, indeed, of both Adam & Eve, and the equally Traditional
Teaching regarding the Immediate Creation of each Individual Human Soul
(using that word in its Catholic sense - many other terms are also
available) settles nothing in the continuing debates about astrophysics,
geology, biology,psychology and historical anthropology - none of which
are central in the Science of Life.
(36) We are all Children of Jesus-&-Mary, but it is freely
debatable whether the particular Adam and Eve who were one Individual's
pristine forbears were, as Individuals, the same particular Adam and Eve
who were some other Individual's forbears. All that the Scriptures warrant
our saying is (A) that our pristine forbears were, in each and every
Individual case, one Individual Man and one Individual Woman (no matter by
what human names they were called); (B) that no Individual is, or ever has
been merely the product or result of the blind workings of any
non-personal presence or force, such as"humanity" or "evolution" or
"chance", etc.; (C) that the Individual ancestry of Jesus and Mary
contained in the Bible is True in the sense intended by the Sacred Author;
and (D) that, even if the pristine parents of the entire Human Family are
a plurality of what we might call Adams-and-Eves living as widely
scattered Dyads both before and after their particular Individual and
Joint Falls from Grace, I+N Virtue of the Ultimately to be Achieved and
Eternally Predestined Unity of the Family of G-d - not only on planet
Earth, but wherever Personal Life, visible or invisible, flourishes I+N
any shape or form throughout the whole Realm of Creation, there, too,
Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords, and Mary is His One and Only
First Lady, no matter what other Secret Names they may or may not Freely
choose also to use.
(37) The Divine Mystery IS Absolutely Infinite. Thanks Be to G-d!

still unpublished "Mirror of Justice - Abstracts from a Library: a
Sequence of Essays in honour of the Nuptial Theology of the Sovereign Lady
Mary Most Holy Help of Christians by Divine Conception Mother of God and
Virgin Queen of All That Is".
Colin, who is also the author of a privately circulated study in four
volumes: "The Rainbow Cymbal" (CYMBAL = Constellate Youthful Meanings
Beyond Ancient Limits...& IS The Sound of One hand-clapping?), from
1969 to 1970 served as a member of the editorial and translation team
preparing the official English edition in 5 volumes of "The Salesian
Congregation Today & Tomorrow - a Thumbnail Sketch". His own published
translations from the Italian include "Theatre Through The Ages" (Cassell,
1975) and "Social Structure in Italy - Crisis of a System" (Martin
Robertson, 1976).
The writings of the Pseudo-Dionysius, of Saints Augustine of Hippo,

According to a front-page article in the Catholic
Herald (28 November 1997) new findings published in the Gregorian
University's Institute of Religious Science's founder, Father Giovanni
Magnani's "Jesus, Builder & Master" (Assisi: Cittadella 1997) and
approved in Rome's Il Messagero by Vatican expert Orazio Petrosillo
indicate that, since Galilee's scarcity of trees ruled out joinery as a
viable career and the Greek word tekton more properly designates
not a 'carpenter' but a 'civil engineer' only one level below an
architekton, Jesus and Joseph, far from being materially poor, were
in fact prosperous and well-educated middle-class burghers. This, of
course, is something many good Irish mothers were already telling their
daughters before the Second World-War... Specific examples aside,
Frederick E. Crowe's "Lonergan" (London: Geoffrey Chapman 1992) offers
some evidence of its author's appreciation of the related general
point.
WHY NO MORE EXPLANATORY NOTES HERE BEYOND THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM GLOSSARY OF TERMS?
The 60,000,000+ Internet-Surfers are, in terms of
numbers alone, few indeed when compared with the innumerable hosts of
suprasensible presences NOW so vitally thronging around. But quality also
counts for something.
Hence, the present Preliminary LibrArian's A
Treasury of Books prepared I+N the service of Love is, although only an
infinitesimally small sample of the available wisdom long stored up and
still as ever freely available I+N The Library all too few nowadays tend
to visit, its renewed presentation is not without its own particular value
and importance.
Explicit references have been kept to a minimum, as has the number of
directly linked images used, since our intra-terrestrial Internet
explorations cannot be the only or even the chief concern of One Called to

A MINIMUM GLOSSARY
THE ACADEMY FOR THE CULTIVATION OF THE NATURAL ARTS
(ACNA) - today's authentic heir not only to Plato's Academy as to
Aristotle's Lyceum, but also to several more ancient Centres where The
Primordial Wisdom is lived, nourished, nurtured and cherished.
ADULT EDUCATION IMPROVES (AEI) - a memorable motto
that encapsulates the essence of what students attending British Adult
Education Institutes have now for many years principally valued and
acknowledged as worthy of preservation and cultivation. "Improves"
functions like a verb in the Greek middle-voice; by helping others to
learn, we learn too.
'"CATHOLIC" means "universal"' is true as far as it
goes, but scarcely helpful. It seems preferable to let "catholic" mean
"universal" in the sense of "general and widespread", with "Catholic"
actually meaning "concretely all embracing both severally and together,
distinctly and conjointly, i.e., I+N Primordial Communion". Concrete are,
I suggest, G-d, Cherubim, Seraphim, Principalities,Thrones, Dominations,
Powers, Virtues, Archangels, Angels, Men, Animals, Plants, Salamanders,
Minerals, Ships, Sails, Sealing-Wax, Candle-Styx & Kings. Merely
abstract are men, women, animals, plants, and all that senses perceive or
mind can grasp. Hence, the Roman Catholic Church (as such no more than an
institutionalized abstraction) wisely acknowledges that in it Catholic
Truth actually no more than, though no less than "subsists", just as my
soul merely "subsists" until I grow beyond this tomb we on Earth have
learned to call 'our world'...
That clarified, parallel clarifications of "I+N",
"Truth", "Word", "IS" etc., are best omitted from this glossary. They
appear elsewhere and in due place.
"G-d" is here used instead of "God" to symbolize
respect for a traditional Hebrew preference for omitting vowels,
especially when I+N (w)riting The Name... The here omitted "o" did,
however, enjoy the distinct advantage of being traditionally a feminine
vowel, and so more suitable to express Spirit (Ruah -Breath) than Alpha
Ploughman's masculine "A" in the once familiar alternative "gad".
Like Joan D'Arcy Cooper [see both above and below]
and by no means incidentally, I understand "Man" primarily to mean "(at
least potentially) Mindful & Meditative". Hence, while fully
understanding of contemporary women's many needs and wants, I cannot avoid
noticing the oddity of some among them preferring "persons" to "men" in
order verbally to disapprove of gender-inequality of one sort or another -
but why not "perdaughters"?!
"Network", on the other hand, need occasion no
controversy at all. The word has been magisterially defined for us by
Samuel Johnson in his great Dictionary as meaning: "anything reticulated
or decussated at equal intervals with interstices between the
intersections".

potential present in others.
Third Etheric Level characterised by the desire to serve others' real
needs.
Second Etheric Level where the desire for self-expression develops into creative
self-expression and self-expression for others' benefit.
First Etheric Level, Paradise or Summerland where the desire for physical and
etheric possessions is satisfied.
First Level of Distortion - a state in which one's will is ensnared by its
identification with one particular negative personal emotion, e.g., fear
or resentment.
Second Level of Distortion where one is also withdrawn from much in one's own world, in order to express some negative emotion.
Third Level of Distortion where one creates objective distortion in order to validate
for oneself one's own negative state of mind.
Fourth Level of Distortion where individuals indulge their obsessive and
all-encompassing ego-centricity, not excluding self-violation and violent
forms of self-mutilation.
Fifth Level of Distortion - the violent exercise of power in order to impose one's
own world on others.
Sixth Level of Distortion characterised by the frequently schizophrenic will to force
Light to submit to Darkness.
Seventh Level of Distortion - a zone whose inhabitants may reflect Light brilliantly,
while themselves inhabiting total Darkness, deaf even to the voice of
their own conscience, and very much in need of the gift of
Peace.

Although the Roman soldiers of the second Augustan Legion
